French-Style Minute Steaks

French inspired steaks served with caramelized onions, a classic and delicious combination.

Servings: 2-4

Preparation time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

 

  • 4 minute steaks
  • 2 onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tbsp. butter and a drizzle of olive oil in a frying pan. Add the onions and cook over medium heat, stirring regularly, until golden and caramelized, about 15 minutes.
  2. Add the balsamic vinegar, cook for a further 5 minutes, then set aside.
  3. Season steaks with salt and pepper, then in the same pan, heat remaining butter and sear steaks for 30 seconds to 1 minute on each side.
  4. Serve steaks with caramelized onions.
