Greek-Style Chicken Drumsticks with Tzatziki

Chicken drumsticks marinated in a Greek-style herby marinade and served with a refreshing tzatziki sauce.

Servings: 4

Preparation time: 1 hour (plus marinating time)

Ingredients

 

  • 8 chicken drumsticks

For the marinade:

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp. dried oregano
  • 1 tsp. dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the tzatziki:

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 cucumber, grated and patted dry
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. chopped fresh dill
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375ºF.
  2. In a large bowl, combine all marinade ingredients. Add chicken drumsticks and coat well. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, ideally overnight.
  3. Place the drumsticks in an ovenproof dish and bake for 40-45 minutes, turning a few times, until cooked through and golden-brown.
  4. Meanwhile, prepare the tzatziki by mixing the Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, dill, salt and pepper in a bowl. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  5. Serve grilled chicken drumsticks with tzatziki on the side.
