Grilled half-moon pork chops coated in a homemade barbecue sauce, for a dish full of smoky and sweet flavors.
Servings: 4
Preparation time: 1h (excluding marinating time)
Star ingredient: pork chops
Ingredients
4 pork chops
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
1 tbsp. smoked paprika
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Vegetable oil
Instructions
To prepare the BBQ sauce, combine all ingredients (except chops) in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, until sauce thickens.
Allow the sauce to cool, then brush a third of it over the pork chops (reserving the rest). Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, ideally overnight.
Preheat a drizzle of oil in a frying pan over high heat.
Grill pork chops for about 3-5 minutes on each side, brushing with additional barbecue sauce as they cook, until cooked through and the surface is caramelized.
Serve hot, with remaining barbecue sauce on the side.
