Tender ground pork meatballs served with a homemade sweet-and-sour sauce, perfect for a family meal or an evening with friends.

Ingredients

 

  • 450g ground pork
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp. coriander, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. cornstarch, diluted in 2 tbsp. water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground pork, onion, garlic, coriander, egg, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper. Form into 1 tbsp. balls.
  3. Place meatballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and cooked inside.
  4. Meanwhile, prepare the sweet and sour sauce. In a saucepan, combine ketchup, rice vinegar, brown sugar and soy sauce.
  5. Bring to the boil, then add the cornstarch mixture and stir until the sauce thickens.
  6. Pour sauce over cooked meatballs or serve separately for dipping. Garnish with fresh coriander, if desired.
